This website is dedicated to my parents and to my family that still live in Trentino and Val di Non.
My mother, Josephine (Giuseppena) was born in 1916 in Ronzone. In 1935, at the age of 19 she went to the Bronx, NY in the United States to live with Zia Maria Biasi. Several years later she was introduced to my father by her cousins husband Giuseppe Zanini who was from Tuenno.
My father Nicholas (Nicolo) was born in 1904 in Minersville, Pennsylvania. In 1912, my grandfather became ill and could no longer work in the mines. He decided to return to Tuenno with his family. My father returned to Minersville in 1922 to live with his cousin Paride Mendini.
My grandparents were from Ronzone, Ruffre, Rumo and Tuenno.
Many of the 300 plus photos in this website were taken in September, 2005. My cousin Dario volunteered to drive me through the valley to take the photos. We accomplished this in 2 days. If I had to do it by myself it would have taken much longer. A special thank you to him.
This website has photos of the towns of Val di Non including Lago di Tovel, Lago Santa di. Guistina, San Romedio and several photos of the valley itself. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them and creating this website.

Questo sito è dedicato ai miei genitori e alla famiglia che vive in Trentino e in Val di Non.
Mia madrea Giuseppina è nata nel 1916 a Ronzone. Nel 1935, all'età di 19 anni si è trasferita a New York (quartiere Bronx) per vivere con la zia Maria Biasi. Diversi anni più tardi fu presentata a mio padre dal marito di sua cugina Giuseppe Zanini che proveniva da Tuenno.
Mio padre Nicolo nacque nel 1904 a Minersville, Pennsylvania. Nel 1912 mio nonno si ammalò e non potè più lavorare nelle miniere. Decise quindi di ritornare a Tuenno con la sua famiglia. Mio padre ritornò a Minersville nel 1922 dove visse con suo cugino Paride Mendini.
I miei nonni provenivanp da Ronzone, Ruffrè, Rumo e Tuenno.
Molte delle oltre 300 foto presenti in questo sito furono scattate nel settembre 2005. Con mio cugino Dario ,che si è offerto di accompagnarmi in macchina, abbiamo girato tutta la Val di Non e cosi ho potuto scattare queste foto. Ci abbiamo messo due giorni. Se avessi dovuto fare tutto solo per conto mio, ci avrei impiegato molto di più. A lui va quindi un ringraziamento particolare.
Questo sito raccoglie foto della Val di Non, dei suoi paesi, del Lago di Tovel, del Lago di Santa Giustina e di San Romedio . Spero che la visione di queste foto sia per voi divertente e rilassante perché questo è ciò che ho provato creando questo sito.
